Energy Exchange Australia EXA 2025

24 February 2025

CoreMarine will be taking to the stage at Energy Exchange Australia (EXA) in Perth this March! Book a time to catch up with us here.

Digital Twins, Data Acquisition, AI

Our Commercial Director Matt King will be joining the Digital Twins, Data Acquisition, AI session on March 11th, 2:30-4pm to share the findings of our latest white paper: Advances in Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) for offshore assets.

In a nutshell, the white paper examines the challenges and opportunities in implementing CBM and RBI approaches using digital twin technology, with a particular focus on innovations in sensor and underwater communications.

These innovations mean data collection is now possible from previously inaccessible environments. We can now collect live input from subsea equipment, moorings, and risers, gaining unprecedented insights into asset performance and condition.

When integrated with digital twin platforms, such as our own CoreIntegrity on-demand digital asset monitoring system, these technologies create accurate, real-time virtual representations of physical assets, forming the cornerstone of advanced CBM and RBI strategies.

Offshore Wind, Wave & Tidal

Engineering Director Sean Van Steel will be sharing our insights at Offshore Wind, Wave and Tidal sessions one and two on the morning of March 13th.

In Session 1, he’ll dive into the design optimisation of power cable configurations for floating offshore wind turbines, connected to oil and gas assets.

There’s growing interest in the use of floating wind to meet the onboard power generation needs of floating oil and gas facilities. However, as new assets venture into deeper waters beyond 250 metres, there’s a need for alternative solutions for dynamic power cables. We’ve explored these, specifically a suspension method midway through the water column which optimises the integration of renewables with O+G, enhancing sustainability and reducing operational costs.

In Session 2, Sean presents on global challenges around offshore wind ports.

Offshore wind requires major supporting infrastructure, and no ports in Australia are ready to go. Sean will outline the port requirements from an industry viewpoint, what our current port capacity is and how they could be augmented to meet the requirements of offshore wind farms.
